Here’s a finish we firmly believe you know the first move to, but can you see it all the way out to the end?

Solution:

From a game Shmatkov-Eidlin, Moscow,1960, but it’s very different from the usual Bxf7+ games you see: 1. d4 d5 2. c4 dxc4 3. e3 e5 4. Bxc4 exd4 5. exd4 Nf6 6. Nc3 Be7 7. Nf3 Nbd7?? (See Diagram) 8. Bxf7+ Kxf7 9. Ng5+ Kg6 (9... Ke8 10. Ne6 or 9... Kf8 10. Ne6+ or 9... Kg8 10.Qb3+ Kf8 11. Qf7#) 10. Qd3+ Kh5 11. Qh3+ [Here White misses the mate: 11. Qf5 Ng4 12. Ne6+ g5 13. h4 Bd6 (13... h6 14. Nf4#) 14. Qf7+ Kh6 15. hxg5#] 11... Kg6 12. Qd3+ Kh5 13. Ne6 Black Resigned
