Because of chess summer school, we’ve ignored our composed problemists, so this week we will highlight an American living legend problemist—my old friend, Bob Lincoln. Bob is the grandmaster of the chess miniature problem (7 or less chessmen). His two-movers never fail to entertain as there usually is some obvious way to mate that isn’t the right solution! We’re going to warm you up with a simple mate in two. Have fun!

Solution:

If you tried 1.Qc5 then 1...Bg7 defends. 1.g7 Kf7 [1...Kxh7 2.gxh8Q#; 1...Bxg7 2.Qxg7#] 2.g8Q#
