Your chess antennae should be up. The Black king is not only cornered, but you should be looking for a back rank mating possibility because of the pawn on f6.


Solution:

1.Qh6 (Nothing like threatening mate in one. If White played 1.Qd8 with the hope of getting taken, Black would not cooperate by simply playing 1…Rfe8. You have to force Black’s hand as follows:) Rg8 2.Rd8 Ree8 3.Rxe8 Rxe8 [3...Qxc3 4.Qg7#] 4.Qg7#
