1. Tig Notaro

Tig Notaro has been trending for her role in Army of Darkness, but she’s also one of the funniest and most famous stand up comedians out there today. Tig Notaro first broke out with the recording of her live set at the Largo theater in Los Angeles, where she recounts her recent cancer diagnosis and her mother’s sudden death.

Since then, Notaro has more than made her name on the comedy scene, with books, standup specials, a documentary, and so much more. Her wife, Stephanie Alleyne, is also a notable comedian, actor, writer, and producer.

2. Eric Andre

Fans of absurdist and cringe comedy are probably familiar with Eric Andre. Clips from the Eric Andre show go viral regularly.

Andre recently released the Netflix standup schedule “Legalize Everything”, which featured his mother, and the movie Bad Trip. Andre has also appeared in 2 Broke Girls, Disenchantment, and Don’t Trust the B***** in Apartment 23.

3. Bill Burr

Grammy nominee and former Saturday Night Live host Bill Burr has been putting out content for a long time. If you’re a podcast fan, you’ll want to check out Burr’s Monday Morning Podcast.

Burr has previously appeared in films such as The King of Staten Island, The Hear, and Daddy’s Home. He has starred in shows such as F is for Family and the Mandalorian.

4. Hannibal Burress

Hannibal Burress is probably best known for his set about Bill Cosby, which is widely believed to have spurred a further investigation into his crimes. But, that’s not all that Burress has to offer.

He played Lincoln in the popular Comedy Central series Broad City, and also previously wrote for the hit television show 30 Rock. Burress’s albums include Miami Nights, My Name is Hannibal, Comedy Camisado, and Hannibal Takes Edinburgh.

5. Amber Ruffin

Star of the titular Amber Ruffin Show, Ruffin first gained attention with her segments on Seth Meyer’s late-night talk show, Late Night with Seth Meyers, which were a result of her being the first-ever Black woman writer on an American late-night television show.

Her “Amber Says What” and “Jokes Seth Can’t Tell” segments eventually lead to her own Peacock show, the Amber Ruffin Show. She also co-authored a book with her sister, Lacey Lamar, called, “You’ll Never Believe What Happened to Lacey: Crazy Stories about Racism”.
