President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit South Carolina Wednesday as part of a survey of damage from Hurricane Helene, the White House announced.
Biden plans to take an aerial tour of western North Carolina, which was devastated by Hurricane Helene.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, a temporary flight restriction will be in place over the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport from 12:30 to 3:15 p.m. A temporary flight restriction will be over Asheville, North Carolina, from 1 to 2:15 p.m.
On his way to North Carolina, Biden will “engage with first responders and state and local officials in South Carolina,” the White House said.
South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster declined to share details of the president’s visit, deferring to the White House to release the information. McMaster said, however, he will be in the Upstate on Wednesday.
