Jackie Walorski, an Indiana Republican, said she supported the removal of Cheney and wants to move on.

“I support Elise. I support our leadership.”

Andrew Garbarino of New York said “we have to move forward now,” adding that he supports Stefanik.

“I think Stefanik would be a wonderful conference chair,” Garbarino said.

The timeline for a vote on Cheney’s successor isn’t set, but Wisconsin Republican Bryan Steil alluded to a decision as soon as the end of the week. “That will all wash out on Friday,” Steil said.
