(UPI) A pair of construction workers helped rescue a tiny kitten from the top of a bridge in Florida.

The Jacksonville Humane Society shared a photo of the 5-week-old kitten that was nicknamed "Dames Point" after construction workers found him at the top of Dames Point Bridge.

"Two men, Arthur and Jose, found him and pulled him to safety," the humane society said. They gave him water and the snacks they had with them -- apples, a granola bar and string cheese!

After sharing their snack with the kitten the two men brought it to the humane society where staff determined it was underweight but generally in good health.

Dames Point will spend up to four weeks in a foster home before being placed up for adoption.

Jacksonville Humane Society executive director Denise Deisler was thankful to the two construction workers for the generous act that helped save the helpless kitten.

"This is just one example of the many acts of compassion that happen in Jacksonville every day," Deisler said. Dames Point's rescuers already have a dangerous job, and knowing that they took a risk to save this kitten is generosity at its best.
