Use a nail file to kind of sand the dead skin off instead. Don't use a new one because thwy will hurt and don't use a blunt one because they won't work. You have to use one on your nail a few times and just when it's about to not work quite as great on your nails anymore, demote it to lip file...lol idk but it works. That's what i've been using for a long time and using an old toothbrush on your lip is putting all of those germs back into your mouth.
