Man retrieves BlackBerry from landfill
Billy Boyd said his BlackBerry had fallen out of his pocket while he was raking his yard and had been transported to the city of Aspen recycling center, the Aspen (Colo.) Daily News said.
Boyd located his BlackBerry in a yard refuse bin at the center but a grate stopped him from being able to retrieve it. His discovery came after City Hall's regular working hours and when he went back Wednesday morning he was informed the bin had been emptied at the county landfill.
Using his girlfriend's cell phone to search for his BlackBerry he was able to find and retrieve it within a half hour.
"I can't think of another time where (such a search) has worked out," Chris Hoofnagle, the landfill's solid waste manager, told the Daily News.

This is more amazing, I think. Here in my hometown, where I still, of Stanley, Wisconsin, on graduation night at local high school back in 1939, a guy and his some of his friends went to the lake to skinny dip as way to celebrate their graduation. The guy lost his class ring. In 1986
when the lake had a dredging barge on it sucking up the muck from the lake bottom to and then pumping it to a holding area, the ring was found. An operator of the dredge was out walking on that muck looking for any debris that might have been sucked up. Right near the discharge pipe the guy found this class ring. The inscription on the inside of the band allowed the ring to be returned
to its rightful owner almost 50 years after it was lost.
