BRUSSELS (UPI) -- A Belgian teenager who claimed a tattooist put 56
stars on her face without her permission while she slept now admits
she lied because her father was angry.
Kimberley Vlaminck, 18, had initially claimed she had wanted three
small stars only to doze off and wake to find dozens of them on the
left side of her face. She said Flemish-speaking tattoo artist Rouslan
Toumaniantz failed to understand her instructions in French and
English, leaving her looking like "a freak."
But The Daily Telegraph reported Tuesday Vlaminck has confessed to
being "fully aware" of what Toumaniantz was doing to her face.
"I asked for 56 stars and initially adored them," she told a Dutch TV
crew. "But when my father saw them, he was furious. So I said I fell
asleep and the that the tattooist made a mistake."
Toumaniantz had denied doing anything other than what he was hired to
do, though he did offer to pay half the cost of having them removed.
He reportedly withdrew that offer when Vlaminck came clean.
