Group offers candidates e-scent-ial advice

NEW YORK (UPI) -- The two major-party U.S. presidential candidates may want to exercise good "scents" while on the campaign trail, a fragrance education organization says.

The human nose can detect at least 10,000 aromas, and the Fragrance Foundation said in a news release Tuesday Democratic nominee Barack Obama and soon-to-be-nominated Republican hopeful John McCain should be aware of the force of fragrance and how it can help them during the long campaign.

Need a quick pick-me-up while on the stump? Try lavender or peppermint because research indicates both improve alertness and on-the-job performance, the foundation said.

Attending a fundraiser? Citrus conveys an I-mean-business aura of confidence.

And for that one candidate who will attend an inaugural ball in January, the Fragrance Foundation suggests an aromatic or oriental fragrance to inspire warmth and sophistication.

The Fragrance Foundation is a non-profit, educational organization based in New York and whose mission includes promoting the image of the fragrance industry to the public.

Are you kidding me! I hardly thing the way someone smells is going to play a factor in anything. I'm willing to smell ---- for the next 10years if Oboma will lower the gas prices.

Fragrances

I suppose the Foundation is unhappy about the growing number of offices and businesses that require their employees to be fragrance-free for the health of their customers and fellow employees.

I'm not very prone to problems with fragrance (except citrus which I'm allergic to) but I find that some random woman will occassionally poison me while applying her scent in a public bathroom.

So if I squirt on a little orange juice people will take me seriously? Interesting.
