Search on for Canadian wallaby
The 2-year-old marsupial has been missing since June 18 from a fenced yard where its university student-owner had it penned, the Globe and Mail reported.
Caroline MacPherson, the breeder who sold George to the unidentified student, said the animal -- which resembles a kangaroo -- stands about 2 1/2 feet high and weighs approximately 25 pounds.
She told the newspaper anyone who spotted the wallaby could likely capture it with an offering of a potato chip.
"Generally, their favorite foods are things like crackers -- they like anything with salt on it," MacPherson said.
The province amended its wildlife law in April to rein in the keeping of exotic species but MacPherson said wallabies aren't on the list of dangerous species.
"He's not a misplaced nuclear device," she told the Globe and Mail. "He's a wallaby. And he eats grass, not human flesh."
