WEST HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (UPI) -- A 250-pound horse statue has been
returned to a West Hempstead, N.Y., stable after it was stolen early
Sunday.
Nassau County police said they arrested Cody Warren, 23, Zachary
Schaefer, 24, and Barry Heath, 24, on suspicion of driving off with
the plastic mascot, nicknamed "Stu," the New York Post reported
Tuesday.
A state trooper made note of the horse when he pulled over the car
containing the three men. The trooper was unaware the statue was
stolen property until the troopers heard an alert and alerted Nassau
County police.
"Stu is our mascot," instructor Taylor Rubin said. "What's the purpose
of stealing a plastic horse?"
