Hmmm -- maybe the emu belongs to somebody who's not taking good care of him, and that's why he escaped, or maybe his owner isn't sposed to have him -- there are lots of federal and state laws governing ownership of exotic birds and animals, and the owner might be afraid to come forward and claim him since he's not sposed to have him in the first place -- this man should call the nearest zoo and see if they will come and get him. Also, why hasn't animal control people come to collect him and put him somewhere safe till they find out where he's sposed to be ?? This is NOT the responsibility of the guy whose backyard the emu wandered into!!
