The Rakes break up; nix tour
The four childhood friends formed the band in 2002 and went on to release three celebrated albums -- "Capture/Release" in 2005, followed by "Ten New Messages" in 2007 and "Klang" this year.
"The Rakes have always been very adamant and proud of the fact that we give 100 percent to every gig we've ever played," the band said in a statement. "If we can't give it everything, then we won't do it. That was the rule we set ourselves from day one."
The band said members concluded they could no longer give 100 perfect and therefore decided to break up.
