Hey Jude

Agreed, this was WAY off! It was hardly an early Beatles song.

Their first big hit was "I Want to Hold Your Hand," at least here in the United States. Other early hits were "Love Me Do," "Eight Days a Week," and "She Loves You," among many others. "Hey, Jude" was way later, as the others have pointed out.

Hey Jude

Paul McCartney wrote it for John Lennons son Julian to help him through his parents divorce, and it was recorded in 1968

The Beatles

Boy did you guys get the Hey, Jude, wrong,
It was one of the last hits by the Beatles, and
their biggest, maybe their longest recording of a single song (7 min. +) also.
I don't know about 1968, I thought it way #1 1st
week of May, 1970, the week after it was announced they had broken up (George Harrison) had a single and album released that summer, 1st.

Well now we know two things: that the "Answer Man" is a youngster who wasn't around in the 60s, and also that he doesn't do very good research. I'll never trust his "answers" again. The Beatles had DOZENS of hits before Hey Jude, possibly over 100, and only a few more AFTER it.

Hey Jude

I agree with Alan.

Hey Jude was recorded on 30 July 1968. Was released on 26 August 1968.

One of my most favourite songs. John wrote it to, and for, his son.

Your question should have read:

"Their their biggest selling single was titled "Hey Jude." Name them."

Hey Jude question

Hey Jude was one of the Beatles last hits not first.
