Report: H1N1 flu spreads like seasonal flu
Only one small retrospective study has reported a 30 percent secondary attack rate for laboratory-confirmed pandemic influenza A H1N1 among tourists to China, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Mortality and Morbidity Weekly Report said Thursday.
Investigations into the initial cases of H1N1 in Kenya in June and July showed an overall laboratory-confirmed secondary attack rate of 26 percent in households, which is similar to rates reported previously for seasonal influenza.
This measure of the frequency of new cases disease arising through contact with infected persons, which is known as the secondary attack rate, was believed higher for H1N1 flu than for seasonal influenza. The typical secondary attack rate of seasonal influenza is between 5 percent and 15 percent.
Additional studies are needed to better understand the secondary attack rates for laboratory confirmed H1N1 flu, the report says.

October 24, 2009 an Associated Press article said President Obama declared the Swine-flu outbreak a national emergency and this has empowered his health secretary to suspend federal requirements and guidelines. Previously, this month CBS News Washington Unplugged said that H1N1 cases were greatly exaggerated, FROM STATE TO STATE 83% TO 97% OF THE REPORTED CASES OF H1N1 ARE NOT H1N1; so why all the fuss. It’s because there is a great deal of money to be made and a lot of power and influence to be used and exchanged.
The government hopes to have about 50 million doses of swine flu vaccine out by mid-November and 150 million in December. This country alone will spend billions for the swine flu vaccine and many billions more for the seasonal flu and phenomena vaccines. This is not even taking into account Tamiflu and other antiviral drugs or what the rest of the world is spending and will continue to spend year after year. We are talking about an amount of money that has created a lot of self-centered greed and has been successful through the use of deception, lies, misdirection, and misinformation in a controlled media in order to make more profits. This is an ongoing process to make a drug quickly that has not been properly tested and is NOW protected by laws and government agencies. They are taking away our rights of choice and due recourse under the law; all for the sake of raking in profits. Who are making profits on this besides the drug companies?
Under federal law, FDA advisory committee members must exclude themselves from making decisions about vaccines in which they may have a financial interest. The conflict of interest rules employed by the FDA and the CDC are not enforced, and committee members with sizeable ties to pharmaceutical companies have been given waivers to participate in committee proceedings. Who pays for this? It is you and I.
Cheers,

Since when is 26% "similar to" 5-15%?
Excuse me?
Last I looked, 26% is approximately twice as infectious as 5-15%
Did someone make a typo?
Or, like so many US residents, are they "math challenged?"
