Olympic Flame Arrives in Volgograd Amid Tight Security

The Olympic torch carrying the flame of the Sochi Winter Olympics arrived in Russia's southern city of Volgograd on Monday (January 20), the scene of two suicide bombings that killed at least 34 people last month. The Olympic flame arrived at the Volgograd train station that serves as a gateway to the southern wedge of Russian territory bounded by the Black and Caspian Seas and the Caucasus mountains, some 700 kilometres (450 miles) north-east of Sochi.
