COL BKB: Clemson 87, Long Beach St. 79

ANAHEIM, Calif. (UPI) -- Tanner Smith scored 17 points and five teammates were in double figures Friday, sending 19th-ranked Clemson to an 87-79 win over Long Beach State.

The game was part of the consolation round of the 76 Classic.

Clemson (5-1) bounced back from its first loss of the season, a setback against Texas A&M in the opening round of the tournament, to shoot 57.6 percent from the floor.

Demontez Stitt added 16 points and Andre Young had 13 off the bench.

Long Beach State (3-3), which lost to West Virginia in the first round, was led by 25 points and 15 rebounds from T.J. Robinson.
