COL BKB: No. Carolina 93, Gardner-Webb 72

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (UPI) -- Deon Thompson's 22 points led the 12th-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels to a 93-72 win Monday over the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs.

Thompson sank 9-of-11 field goal attempts and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Ed Davis had 15 points and 13 boards for North Carolina (5-1).

Grayson Flittner fired in nine 3-point shots and finished with 32 points for Gardner-Webb (3-1).
