NHL: Chicago 5, Edmonton 2

EDMONTON, Alberta (UPI) -- Jonathan Toews scored a pair of goals and added an assist Saturday to lead the streaking Chicago Blackhawks past Edmonton 5-2.

Patrick Kane had a goal and an assist for the Blackhawks, who have won six in a row.

John Madden and Kris Versteeg scored the other two Chicago goals. Cristobal Huet made 25 saves in goal.

Jeff Deslauriers notched 25 saves for the Oilers. Dustin Penner and Sheldon Souray scored the Edmonton goals.

Toews scored at 3:50 of the first period to open the scoring, but Souray tied it 35 seconds later.

Chicago then reeled off three unanswered scores to take a 4-1 lead after Madden's tally at 11:02 of the second period.

The two teams traded power-play goals by Penner and Toews in the third period to close out the scoring.
