COL FB: Iowa 12, Minnesota 0

IOWA CITY, Iowa (UPI) -- Daniel Murray kicked two field goals and Iowa's defense forced three turnovers Saturday, leading the 15th-ranked Hawkeyes to 12-0 Big Ten win over Minnesota.

Murray's kicks of 30 and 45 yards were made in the first and fourth quarters.

Backup James Vandenberg, making his second start in place of injured quarterback Ricky Stanzi (ankle), completed 11-of-24 passes for 117 yards with one interception.

Adam Robinson gained 72 yards on 12 carries, and Brandon Wegher scored the game's only touchdown with a second-quarter, 1-yard run for the Hawkeyes (10-2, 6-2), who retained Floyd of Rosedale, a statue of a bronzed pig, with their second straight shutout in the neighbor-states series.

Adam Weber completed just 14-of-40 passes for 153 yards and lost two fumbles. Da'Jon McKnight caught four passes for 63 yards for the Golden Gophers (6-6, 3-5), who ended their regular season losing two of their final three games.
