NBA: Houston 97, Minnesota 84

MINNEAPOLIS (UPI) -- Luis Scola led the way with 20 points Wednesday and the Houston Rockets went on a fourth-quarter run to defeat Minnesota 97-84.

After winning their season opener, the Timberwolves have lost 11 consecutive games.

Scola also pulled down 16 rebounds and Trevor Ariza added 18 points in bringing the Rockets their ninth straight victory over Minnesota. Charles Hayes chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds for Houston.

The Rockets led by one going into the fourth period but began to put the game out of reach with a 10-2 run that gave them an 85-76 cushion.

Al Jefferson, who had missed two games due to a death in the family, returned to score 20 points for the Timberwolves.

Minnesota's only victory this year came over New Jersey, which has not won a game all season.
