NBA: Atlanta 105, Miami 90

ATLANTA (UPI) -- A 30-point effort by Joe Johnson helped the Atlanta Hawks pull away in the fourth quarter Wednesday en route to a 105-90 victory over Miami.

The Hawks have won six games in a row overall and have captured all six of their home games this season. Atlanta improved to 10-2, tying Phoenix for the best record in the NBA.

Miami reduced a 17-point halftime deficit to just seven heading into the fourth period but Atlanta opened the quarter with a 9-1 run and was not threatened the rest of the way.

Johnson made 11-of-21 shots from the field. Josh Smith and Al Horford both scored 16 points for the Hawks and they combined to grab 26 rebounds.

Miami was led by Michael Beasley with 21 points. The Heat won seven of their first nine games this season before losing their last two.

Atlanta defeated Miami in seven games during the opening round of last season's playoffs.
