LOS ANGELES (UPI) -- Kobe Bryant scored 41 points for the second consecutive game Friday to lead the Los Angeles Lakers past visiting Memphis 114-98.

Bryant hit 19 of 30 shots en route to the 99th 40-plus game of his career and became the youngest player in the NBA to reach the 24,000-point mark.

The victory marked the fourth in a row for the Lakers, who got 19 points from Ron Artest, 11 from Derek Fisher and 13 off the bench from Josh Powell.

Rudy Gay led Memphis with 22 points and Zach Randolph scored 21 and grabbed 15 rebounds. Allen Iverson scored eight points in a reserve role.

The loss dropped the Grizzlies to 1-5 for the season.
