She Be Wild wins Juvenile Fillies

ARCADIA, Calif. (UPI) -- She Be Wild shot to the lead through an opening along the rail at mid-stretch in Friday's $2 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies and won by 1 length.

Beautician finished second and Blind Luck was third.

She Be Wild, with Julien Leparoux up, saved ground all the way behind the early leaders. As the field turned into the stretch, Leparoux saw daylight on the inside and She Be Wild willingly ran through the hole to the lead. She ran the 1 1/16 miles on the all-weather track in 1:43.8.

In a relatively wide-open field of 12 fillies, She Be Wild went to the post at odds of 7-1 and paid $16.80 to win. The Kentucky-bred daughter of Offlee Wild, trained by Wayne Catalano, now has four wins and a second from five lifetime starts.

She started her career with three straight wins at Arlington Park, then finished second in her last start, the Alcibiades at Keeneland. She becomes an early favorite for next year's Kentucky Oaks.
