A 44-28 second period gave Toronto complete control. Detroit held a 28-24 first-period advantage but after Marco Belinelli's driving layup put Toronto in front 33-31 with 9:59 left in the first half, Detroit never regained the lead.
Andrea Bargnani scored 22 with 12 rebounds, Hedo Turkoglu had 17 with seven rebounds and six assists, and Antoine Wright scored 12 with five rebounds for the Raptors, who have started the season by splitting their first four games.
Ben Gordon led all scorers with 30 points and had four assists for Detroit. Charlie Villanueva had 16 points and six rebounds.
Will Bynum scored 16 points with six assists and Rodney Stuckey added 13 points, 10 rebounds and four assists for the Pistons, who have lost three of five to open the season.
