NHL: Buffalo 3, New York Islanders 0

BUFFALO, N.Y. (UPI) -- Buffalo goaltender Ryan Miller notched his second shutout of the season Wednesday, turning away 24 shots in a 3-0 Sabres victory over the New York Islanders.

The shutout was the 14th of Miller's NFL career.

Thomas Vanek had a goal and assist and Derek Roy and Paul Gaustad each scored for Buffalo.

The defeat ended a four-game win streak for the Islanders, whose goalie, Martin Biron, a former Sabre, made 36 saves.
