Palmer named AFC offensive player of week
The former USC standout completed 20-of-24 passes for 233 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 45-10 rout of Chicago.
The five scoring passes equaled former Bengal great Boomer Esiason's single-game franchise record, and was Palmer's second career POW in his seventh NFL season.
Other AFC weekly honorees were New England safety Brandon Meriweather (defense) and Buffalo punter Brian Moorman (special teams).
Meriweather made two interceptions in the game's first six minutes, returning one for a touchdown, in the Patriots' 35-7 win over Tampa Bay at London's Wembley Stadium.
It was the first POW honor for the three-year veteran from Miami-Florida.
Moorman, a former free agent from Pittsburgh State, averaged 45 yards on eight punts, four inside the 20 yard line, in the Bills' 20-9 win over Carolina. This marks his fifth POW honor.
