CHICAGO (UPI) -- Jake Fox drove in the game-winner Friday with a
10th-inning bases loaded walk, helping the Chicago Cubs edge the
Milwaukee Brewers 2-1.
Fox went hitless, but his two-out walk was the third straight pass
given up by losing pitcher Mark DiFelice (4-1), who also threw a wild
pitch before walking Fox.
Starter Carlos Zambrano knocked in the other run with a fifth-inning
single, while Ryan Theriot, Koyie Hill and Mike Fontenot all had two
hits for the Cubs, who have won the first two contests in the
four-game weekend series.
They won Thursday's opener 9-5 when first baseman Derek Lee homered
twice, including a grand slam, and drove in a single-game career-high
seven runs.
The winner was closer Kevin Gregg (3-2), Chicago's third pitcher.
Milwaukee's run scored on Corey Hart's fourth-inning bases loaded walk
against Zambrano.
Six batters had one hit for the Brewers, who have lost five of eight
against the Cubs this season.
