Nalbandian, Soderling win Stockholm semis

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (UPI) -- David Nalbandian and Robin Soderling easily won their semifinal matches in straight sets Saturday at the Stockholm Open in Sweden.

Nalbandian, an Argentine who is the top seed, trounced Finland's Jarkko Nieminen 6-2, 6-1. Soderling, the fourth-seeded Swede who is a fan favorite, posted a 6-1, 6-0 rout of Japan's Kei Nishikori in just 44 minutes.

"I think I played a great match," Nalbandian said. "I didn't miss one shot in two sets. I hope to play the same way tomorrow."

Soderling reached the final in his native country's tournament for the second time in his career.

Sunday's Nalbandian-Soderling winner will earn a $154,000 first prize check.

Nalbandian won four of their previous five matches.
