MLB: Philadelphia 6, Milwaukee 2

MILWAUKEE (UPI) -- Philadelphia used the home run Sunday to beat Milwaukee 6-2 and take its National League Division Series against the Brewers 3-1.

The Phillies now face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series.

Jimmy Rollins hit a lead-off homer in the top of the first. Pat Burrell homered twice, one a three-run shot in the third, the other a solo homer in the eighth. Jayson Werth hit a solo homer in the third.

Burrell had three hits, and like Rollins, Greg Dobbs had two hits for the Phillies, who reached the NLCS for the first time since the 1993 season.

Winning pitcher Joe Blanton (1-0) gave up a run and five hits in six innings with no walks and seven strikeouts. Relievers Ryan Madson and Brad Lidge finished.

Milwaukee scored on Prince Fielder's seventh-inning homer and Ryan Braun's eighth-inning RBI single.

Braun and J.J. Hardy had two hits apiece for the Brewers who were trying to bounce back from a 0-2 deficit.

The losing pitcher was starter Jeff Suppan (0-1).
