MLS: Real Salt Lake 2, Colorado 0

SALT LAKE CITY (UPI) -- Fabian Espindola scored twice Friday, giving Real Salt Lake a 2-0 Major League Soccer victory over Colorado.

Salt Lake ended a two-game losing streak and moved within two points of Houston for the lead in the Western Conference. Houston is at home against Chicago Sunday.

Javier Morales assisted on both goals, giving him 10 for the season, and Nick Rimando recorded his eighth shutout of the year.

Colorado lost for the league-leading 12th time and has only a two-point lead over San Jose for the worst record in MLS.

Espindola's goals came in the 23rd and 55th minutes.
