Ramirez singled in a run in the third inning and sent home two more with sacrifice flies in the fifth and ninth innings. Soto cracked a solo home run in the eighth.

Marshall (1-2) worked six innings, allowing a run while scattering six hits and striking out four.

Ryan Ludwick homered for the Cardinals.

Todd Wellemeyer (7-4) was the loser, giving up three runs and nine hits in five innings.
