CARSON, Calif. (UPI) -- Adam Cristman scored twice in the first half
Friday and New England held on to defeat Los Angeles 2-1 in a battle
of Major League Soccer conference leaders.
Cristman tallied in the 33rd and 37th minutes, running his goal total
for the year to six.
David Beckham produced his fifth goal of the year in the 66th minute
for the Galaxy.
New England (10-4-3) leads the Eastern Conference by seven points
going into a 35-day break.
Los Angeles (6-6-3) remained just one point in front of Real Salt Lake
and Houston in the Western Conference and fell to 1-5-1 against the
Eastern Conference this season.
