CHARGERS AT BENGALS
When: 1:05 p.m. EST
Line: Chargers by 7
Weather: Temperature in the mid-30s then falling, 90 percent chance of rain, sleet and/or snow, moderate wind.
Synopsis: San Diego has won its last four, but was lucky to get an overtime win over Kansas City last weekend in a game in which the Chiefs rested most of their starters. Nonetheless, KC led most of the way and missed on a 41-yard field try late in regulation that would have kept the Chargers out of the playoffs. San Diego loves to throw the ball, and the Philip Rivers-led aerial show ranks No. 5 in the NFL. But Cincy is No. 5 vs. the pass, and the forecast conditions could make it difficult to throw. That would make the runing game important, but neither excels there -- SD is 13th, Cincy is 15th. And both clubs are solid vs. the run as the Bengals are No. 5 and the Chargers No. 11.
Bottom line/pick: The Bengals were 8-0 at home in the regular season both on the field and vs. the point spread, and recorded 24 sacks. They allowed visiting QBs to throw only nine TD passes and intercepted them 15 times, And they averaged 41.6 points in their last five at home. San Diego, meanwhile, is highly unpredictable, and is just as capable of winning as being blown out here.

49ers at PACKERS
When: 4:40 p.m.
Line: 49ers by 21/2
Weather: Mostly cloudy, temperature near zero then falling, moderate winds.
Synopsis: In the Cold Bowl, San Francisco comes in on a roll as it has won six in a row. Its defense is a force, having allowing an average of just 14.5 points in its last 13 games -- and no more than 24 in any of those. Green Bay got the key passing combo of QB Aaron Rodgers and WR Randall Cobb back from injuries last week as the Pack beat the Bears to make the playoffs, but now faces the NFL's No. 4 pass "D." The ground games would figure to be key here, and SF is superior in that department as the Frank Gore-led attack churns out 137.6 yards a game, No. 3 in the league, and the Packers' defense is 25th vs. the run. Although Green Bay's ground game ranks No. 7, SF is No. 4 vs. the run.
Bottom line/pick: Green Bay has a key injury, as pass-rushing linebacker Clay Matthews is out because of a broken thumb. Look for San Francisco to try to pressure Rodgers, who still could be somewhat rusty after plahying just once after missing seven games because of a broken collarbone.
