Dan Caesar's Thursday night NFL capsule
BENGALS at DOLPHINS
When: 8:25 p.m. EDT.
Line: Bengals by 3.
Weather: Clear, light wind, temperature around 80.
Synopsis: Teams heading opposite ways collide. Cincy has won four in a row, Miami has lost four in a row. The Bengals have averaged 33.3 points in their last three outings as QB Andy Dalton has stepped up, with 11 TD passes and at least 325 passing yards in those and he operates vs. the No. 18 pass defense here. Miami now is without receiver Brandon Gibson (knee injury) for the rest of the year, taking a target away from up-and-down QB quarterback Ryan Tannehill. One bright spot for the Dolphins is that their ground game has picked up recently, led by Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas, and Cincy is expected to be minus middle linebacker Ray Maualuga (concussion). And even in Miami's recent slide, the Dolphins have had the lead in each of their last three. Add to the mix that Cincy could be looking ahead to a division game next week at Baltimore, an upset could loom.
PICK: DOLPHINS 24, BENGALS 23.
