DALLAS--Carmelo Anthony tallied 19 points and the New York Knicks added to Dallas' misery at home with a 92-80 victory over the Mavericks on Sunday night at American Airlines Center.
It was the fourth straight home loss for the Mavs, who dropped to 19-15 overall and 0-2 on this three-game home stand. The Knicks improved to 11-22.
Iman Shumpert drilled a three-pointer with 1:13 left to put the Knicks ahead 87-78 and all but seal the victory for New York, which led by as much as 19 points in the third quarter.
Dirk Nowitkzi led the Mavs with 18 points and nine rebounds, Monta Ellis and Vince Carter tallied 13 points apiece, Jose Calderon scored 12 points and DeJuan Blair added 11 points.
Besides Anthony, Kenyon Martin scored a season-high 14 points for the Knicks, Andrea Bargnani poured in 13, and Ama're Stoudemire had 11 points and seven rebounds.
The Knicks, who came in as the second-worst rebounding team in the NBA, outrebounded the Mavs, 47-34. The Mavs shot just 41 percent from the field and made only 6-of-26 three-pointers.
The Mavs trailed 29-17 after the third period and 52-35 at the half. They also had just 13 assists for the game and was only 10-of-18 from the free throw line.
The Mavs will finish this brief home stand Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers before playing in San Antonio on Wednesday. That starts a period where the Mavs will play four games in five nights, including away and home encounters with the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday and Saturday.
