Pittsburgh diocese leaves Episcopal Church
Clergy delegates to the diocesan convention voted for departure from the Episcopal Church 121-33, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported. Lay delegates approved separation 119-69.
While conservatives have a range of disagreements with the Episcopal Church, the consecration of New Hampshire Bishop Gene Robinson, a gay man in a committed relationship, set off a firestorm in the worldwide Anglican Communion. The Province of the Southern Cone in South America and churches in Africa have been working with U.S. conservatives.
Immediately after the vote, the priest at Calvary Church in East Liberty announced that his congregation would stay with the U.S. church.
Presiding Bishop Katherine Jeffords Schori released a statement saying that she expected most Episcopalians to be "intensely grieved" by the Pittsburgh vote, Episcopal News Service reported.
"I have repeatedly reassured Episcopalians that there is abundant room for dissent within this church, and that loyal opposition is a long and honored tradition within Anglicanism," she said.

Loving and hating
Bobbyr54: you say you love the sinners? Where is the love in your message? It must be hiding very well because I see nothing but hate in your message.
In fact, the vitriol poured out around this subject by everyone shows no love of any kind, only hate. And hate is NOT a family value - or a Christian one either.
But then again, you guys probably don't think I am eligible to comment because women shouldn't be able to speak out. That is biblical too, isn't it?

It seems that Bishop Schori has not read the Bible which states that homosexuality is 'an abomination to the Lord' for ever

Episcopal Church
It bogels my mind that a church would except all sorts of immoral behavior and homosexual behavior from a Bishop to boot!! And want to be considered relavent?? I'm truly surprised that more have not cut ties to Episcopal Church of the USA, I always go back to "beware of the false prophet" If we except this then we are all doomed! We must respect and tolerate differences, but from "our" leaders Wrong is Wrong - Heaven help us find our way!

This church only brought on themselves by allowing an abomination into there midst. And this to Dotun too, we can not tolerat differences when they are in direct defiance of God's laws. God says that murderers, idolators, thieves, robbers, drunkards and homosexuals will not enter the kingdom of Heaven. While we are to try to win people to confess their sin, and accept Chrit into their heart and love the Lord their and obey his commandments, when they refuse to even consider it and live their life in sin, we must seperate ourselves from them. This is God's own instruction. We are to love the sinner, but we cannot accept the sin. That is why our country is in decline in many ways today.

Why would any so called Christian tolerate immorality? Wrong is wrong and there is no other way to put it.
