Report: Ohio city believes Obama rumors

Some residents of an Ohio city say they refuse to believe likely U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., isn't a Muslim.

The residents also said they believe Obama, is from Africa, possibly gay and a racist, The Washington Post reported Monday. The newspaper said its interviews with residents of Findlay, Ohio, considered a key swing area in November's presidential elections, revealed deeply held beliefs in untruths about Obama that have been widely disseminated on the Internet.

One retired U.S. Air Force veteran, 74-year-old Jim Peterman, told the newspaper his friends and relatives routinely discuss Obama's supposed Muslim faith, saying. "I'll admit that I probably don't follow all of the election news like maybe I should. I haven't read his books or studied up more than a little bit. But it's hard to ignore what you hear when everybody you know is saying it. These are good people, smart people, so can they really all be wrong?"

The Post describes Findlay as a Rust Belt town of 40,000 where false rumors about Obama have hardened into an alternative biography. To counter such rumors, his campaign has established a Web site meant to deal with them and have launched television ads emphasizing his Christian faith.

Here we go again, condemming Obama on what people are saying. Have anyone verified any of the lies or truth. My parent always told me if I didn't see or hear it myself keep my mouth close. If we keeping saying the same lies, it will become the truth in our mind. Wake up America, we are going to have a change for better or worse. When you make the choice can you handle the outcome?

We the people are ready for Obama

Good gracious, again!!!
1. ROE V WADE: what difference does it make WHEN it was passed, or WHO was in office, the Supreme Court made it the 'law of the land'!!??
2. I haven't (to my knowledge) read any 'posts' of "people blaming Dems"--- just questioning certian people who happen to be Dems!
3. Same Sex Unions: again, what difference does it make when it "became an issue", or who was in office???---it's still an 'un-Godly' issue being dumped on the whole country.
4. Character Assasination: "the extent....should be far beneath the vocabulary of a practicing Christian"-- I agree!! I'm just 'curious' as to 'where' in that assessment you would place the two sentences following that profound observation?
5. I'm not real sure that God actually 'takes sides', but I am sure that He is going to 'TAKE OVER'----- we, as individuals, better be sure we're on HIS 'side'
