Women priests face excommunication
The general decree said the excommunications would be effective immediately, CNN reported Friday.
The decree, announced Thursday, probably won't be taken seriously by some, said Regina Nicolosi, a program coordinator for Roman Catholic Womenpriests, who was ordained two years ago. She said her organization counts as members between 40 and 50 women priests, none recognized by the church's leadership.
"We have come not to take that too seriously," Nicolosi, 66, of Red Wing, Minn., said. "It's one of the very last patriarchal hierarchies in the western world, and I don't know when they will be ready to let go of that."
Nicolosi said she would still work as a volunteer in a nursing home, celebrating mass even if she's excommunicated.
The church's reluctance to ordain women may backfire, she warned, adding she wants reform of the church's position on women in the priesthood internally.
"This is bringing more and more women into our group, and I think we're getting more support from Catholics who are saying this is getting ridiculous," she said.

I am a woman and Catholic and I agree totally with
Vladimir & God-Rules. They are not doing it for the right reasons. I am very involved in the Catholic Church the fact that women can not be ordained should not be a problem and I don't feel that they am being held back. There are plenty of opportunities for women to feel they are part of the Church if they would just take them and not worry about whether they are the ones standing at the front of the Church.

Gods-rules....
I agree that women shouldn't be priests, or pastors.
HOWEVER, I have yet to find in the Bible where it says women are not equal to men! You need to do some work on your concept of 'equality'. Men and women ARE 'different' (Thank our 'brilliant' Father!!), but 'difference' doesn't by any stretch of the imagination equate to inequality!!
Jesus shed just as much of His Precious Blood for women as for men..... besides, just think where MOST Churches would be were it not for Godly, Faithful WOMEN!

I am Orthodox, so what the Roman Church does is no real concern to me. However, let me speak a word of warning:
To hand over the priesthood to women, isplacing it the hands of a self-interest group who wishes to use it only to increase their own "power". (This is already [prpoven by the Anglicans, who speak of ordaining women as "empowering" them.) The priesthood is not a place of power, but of service, these women do not wish to serve but to excerise authority over others and to sue that authority for their own advantage and gain.

Women are not to be priests
Praise be to God that righteousness, through our Holy Pope in the vatican, is finally taking a step of triumph over evil. It is written in the Holy Bible(Gods words, not mine) that no woman shall stand before the pulpit as a priest or minister, and speak the word of God to the multitudes. For that is an abomination to God. That is not womens role in life. That position and duty to be a priest is to be done solely by man, and only by a man according to God. It is said that woman must sit and speak not, but be quiet while in the house of God, the church, while the priest speaks the words of God to the congregation. Neither is a nun to be a priest. Her vocation in the church is just that, to be a nun.
A daughter to the church, and word of God.
Should it have been meant to be that women be priests. The first woman priest would have surely been the mother of Jesus, the Blessed virgin Mary.
But no, she was not even allowed at the last supper.
What does that tell humanity?
It speaks of a rule and law from Heaven.
This womens liberation was all the work of satan to degrade and belittle Gods first creation, man. To make a mockery out of man, by allowing women to think they are equal to a man.
That is a falsehood. Women are not equal to man, physically or mentally, and never will be according to the words of God in the Holy Bible.
Yet the devil has blinded man in the generation gone by into going along with this so called womens liberation.
These are not my words and laws, but the words of God, written in the Bible.
This has nothing to do at all with justice for women. It has to do with what is correct in the eyes of God.
He who inspired the scriptures to be written according to His law for mankind to learn and follow. Not mankinds rules and laws.
Once again, praise be to our Holy Pope and the vatican for the triumph against evil, and speaking out to the world to bring back that which is Biblically correct.
