Dessert: Angel Food Cake

1 and 1/4 cup flour
1 and 1/4 cup sugar
8 egg whites
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour and 1/2 of the sugar. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites, cream of tartar and baking soda until soft peaks form. Add remaining sugar and continue to beat. Add vanilla and slowly add sifted flour and sugar mixture. Beat until you have a smooth batter. Pour batter into an ungreased bundt or tube pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until golden brown. Allow cake to cool before removing from pan.
