Dessert: Cherries Jubilee

1 quart vanilla ice cream
2 16-oz. cans dark sweet cherries, drained liquid reserved
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. orange flavored liqueur
2 Tbsp. brandy

Place drained cherries in a saucepan over low heat. Mix the cornstarch in the cherry liquid and stir until dissolved. Pour liquid in with cherries and heat until thickened. Pour the orange liqueur in with the cherries and stir. Just before serving, pour brandy over cherries and light with a match. Allow blue flame to burn off and immediately spoon cherry mixture over vanilla ice cream. My wife made this for my birthday the other day and it was wonderful.

The Skinny: Use low fat frozen yogurt instead of ice cream. The liquor is really not optional in this recipe unless you want to forgo the flaming part. We are not aware of any edible ingredient that will produce flames other than some type of liquor.
