Obama to discuss nation's electricity grid
Obama will tour DeSoto Next Generation Solar Energy Center then announce stimulus funding for several smart grid projects that will help modernize the infrastructure, enhance its reliability, promote efficiency and permit integration of clean, renewable energy, the White House said.
The projects are expected to create tens of thousands of jobs while laying the groundwork for changing how energy is used and paid for by consumers, the Los Angeles Times reported.
In addition to improving the efficiency and reliability of the U.S. power supply, the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act spending also is aimed at creating markets for wind and solar power, White House officials said.

The first sensable thing i have heard yet! (why do I suspect nefarious dealing?) The wind is out in the plains states! not enough power lines to deliver the generated power to the biggest users in the NE! There is wind in the mountains too but----the enviro-wackos won't let it be used! If you noticed---that solar panel field is "stand-alone" no storage for darkness! It still needs carbon fired generators at night!

We are in debt up to our gills, own too many banks, too many auto mfg plants, now into govt controlling green technology (when we have just come out of an era of panic of an ice age - new panic global warming), now into govt. power mgmt, Fed govt is running education (into the ground in too many areas), controlling our aged medical care and can't wait to control it for all, it goes on and on and the debt mounts and mounts. I have never been able to continue to expand my business and borrow myself out of debt. it took tightening the belt, mgt. and self denial. Voters get real!!!!!!!!!
