I'm trying to fiqure out what it mean't when they say Obama is a different kind of black. What is different kind of black, do you mean looking at blacks as crimanal, gangsters, welfare receiptents what do they mean different kind of black.

I agree with you Colin and Texas Katie. At least someone has a spirit of peace on earth. If everybody was like you guys this world would be a better place and i'm serious.

How can you judge Obama and say he is a racist you need to look at your selves. Also, who are you to judge based on his life style?
Not to mention our own president "had multiple accounts of substance abuse." "In one instance was arrested in near his family home in Kennebunkport, Maine for driving under the influence of alcohol at the age of thirty on September 4, 1976." "He pleaded guilty, was fined US$150, and had his Maine drivers license suspended until 1978." "Bush gave up alcohol in 1986 and credit to his wife with convincing him to stop drinking."
So don't you go around telling others how Obama life use to be, i bet you got a whole lot of skeletons in your own closet that needs to come out and scare everybody

I really don't know where Obama came from (politically, that is). He is smooth but he says a whole bunch of nothing - we can change, a better future, we can do better, blah, blah, blah. He claims to be a uniter but he's never (actually harldy ever) voted across party lines. He does not reach out to the other side, rather he lectures us on some sort of utpoia where wind and sun and hope and change power everything. It's a scam. Personally I think he's an engaging speaker with little to say. Very liberal, very pollyanna-ish.

That's kind of a quick witty ad misericordiam. At least a sizable population will fall for it. He really "do all it takes to win".

I was going to vote for Hillary CLINTON. i WILL NOT VOTE for Obama. I have voted all my life. I am 73 years old. If Obama was the only one to vote for, i would not vote but Thank God i have a choice. God Bless America..... margaret steward

I, for one, will not allow myself to be manipulated by Obama's games - and playing the race card (as well as the age and experience factors in the manner in which he did) is definitely a manipulative tactic. That, in itself, disqualifies him from being qualified to hold the office of President of the United States. It's obviously a tremendously huge hurdle for him.

I know that race is not an issue for me because several years ago I heard a black Republican being interviewed on a Detroit radio station. If he had been running, I would have voted for him in a heartbeat. So, for me, issues are the issue and I believe Obama's "solutions" are not in America's best interests.

first of all he is not black but mixed.he is a racist.in his book he has admitted to doing crack and says dog meat is tough.and if you get a social security check he wants to tax it.most people getting social security checks are just squeezing by month to month.

Thank you for a well written and objective article. However, I do have a different take on the situation, though I do agree with your final analysis.

Perhaps because I now live in the South, I see the racial issue as being a much larger piece of the puzzle than do you. I have an entirely different set of filters than most of my friends and neighbors as I was born and lived the first 70 years of my life in the Northwest corner of this nation.

Virtually everything negative I hear mentioned about President Obama has a subtle racial connotation. A recent example that left me a little speechless "they seldom speak so well."

My hope is that your view is more correct than my own and that the people of this country see and hear the kind of candidate that hasn't come around very often - - - an individual with grace, intelligence, a world view, integrity and all of these attributes bound together with a tremendous ability as an orator.

Obama deserves a shot at the Presidency. Let's face it he can't do any worse !!! Whether black or white he seems to be intelligent enough to have the right advisors around him, who will not lead him into unwinnable situations.
Which cannot be said of the present incumbent, a laughing stock in most of the world, an object of hatred in the rest.
