These substances contain an unknown toxin which has been known to damage the kidneys. It probably isn't a big deal if your cat ingests one or two, but make sure she doesn't consume them excessively.

6) Onions and garlic (raw, cooked, or powder)

They contain sulfoxides and disulfides, which can damage red blood cells and cause anemia. Cats are actually quite susceptible to this problem so avoid feeding onions at all costs.

7) Raw eggs

Eggs contain an enzyme called avidin, which decreases the absorption of biotin. This can lead to skin and coat problems. They may also contain bacteria called Salmonella which causes vomiting and diarrhea.

You may find this list of foods surprising, but no matter how much your cat enjoys eating your dog's food or canned tuna, it's important for you to try as hard as possible to keep your cat from consuming even a small amount of these foods. That way, he won't get into the habit of eating them. If you think your cat has ingested a large amount of an unsafe food, contact your veterinarian immediately.
