Go back to school, John

Of course Rosemond is off-base about ADHD. He has no more authority about this than he does NASA moon launches. It's obvious.

What's really sad is that too many people think that having a PhD after your name qualifies you as an authority. It does not!

There is a huge body of scientific investigation into ADHD. Perhaps Rosemond does not understand it, or perhaps he doesn't have the attention span to develop the knowledge to understand it.

Either way, that does not give him permission to pull things out of the air -- simply to suit his grandstanding or fondness for telling some parents what they want to hear. That's called being a Snake Oil Salesman. It sells on the street, but know that his more educated and knowledgeable peers know exactly what he's up to -- and it's no good. It's no good for your children, either.

Shame on you, Rosemond, and shame on any newspaper or website that holds him up as any expert. You are simply spreading ignorance and misinformation, and for that you are accountable.

There is a chance your son might be misdiagnosed then, Ms Cook.

John Rosemond on ADHD

I think John Rosemond is incredibly off-base with his analysis on curing ADHD. I would love to see his data from the studies he's conducted on children with ADHD and the effects of electronics, etc. I suppose he would have me believe it's an unhealthy environment with lots of electronic teets that cause my son to twitch uncontrollably and be physically unable to sit down and stay down without his medication. Well, we don't have electronics available to my son and he has been disciplined for bad behaviour from the moment he was able to comprehend right from wrong. You, Mr. Rosemond, are not a physician and you are not capable of treating ADHD so stop misinforming these parents.
Very Sincerely,
Stephanie Cook
