ST. LOUIS (UPI) -- A plane carrying U.S. presidential contender Barack
Obama to Charlotte, N.C., Monday suffered a mechanical problem and
diverted to St. Louis, officials said.
No one was injured.
The plane was en route from Chicago for a campaign appearance by the
Illinois Democratic senator when the pilot radioed he was having
problems with the plane's pitch. The aircraft was diverted to
Lambert-St. Louis International Airport where fire trucks were on hand
for the landing.
CNN reported Obama remained in his seat while the problem was
addressed.
