MADRID (UPI) -- Nine people were hurt Monday, though none seriously,
in the opening of Spain's annual Running of the Bulls.
In the first day of running from bulls set free in the streets of
Pamplona, nine participants received varying scrapes and bruises
though none were gored or hurt badly by the bulls, El Pais reported
online.
The Running of the Bulls is an internationally acclaimed festivity
that became world renowned with the publication of Ernest Hemingway's
1926 novel "The Sun Also Rises," in which characters attend the
festivities in Pamplona.
