IBARAKI, Japan (UPI) -- Japanese officials said a fairly strong
earthquake hit the northeastern section of the country Saturday,
measuring magnitude 5.1.
The epicenter of the quake was about 30 miles under the seabed off
Ibaraki prefecture, Kyodo New reported. The Japan Meteorological
Agency did not immediately issue a tsunami warning and said there were
no immediate reports of injuries or damage from the quake, which
struck at 4:49 p.m.
